Awhile back I posted about two great sites that kind of work hand in hand. The man behind them has a thing for classic and kitsch. He has a real love for French chaunteuse songs as well.
Lately he's been uploading vintage songs from a rock music show that aired here in Cleveland in the 1960's and 70's called Upbeat. It seems there's bootleg DVD's of the show though where the source material comes from baffles me. Who cares though. I love and am amazed at the low view counts for some of these videos that I, personally, think of as must see. Therefore, I'll help champion his cause by posting some of these clips myself from time to time.
By the way, his companion sites are: Bedazzled and his Youtube channel Spikepriggen. The Youtube channel is great if you have a Youtube app in your TV or Blu-ray player.
About six months ago I heard Jon & Robin's Do It Again, Just A Little Bit Slower on a vintage radio broadcast from another favorite site I've discussed, Reel Radio. It had been years since I'd heard it. I searched for it on Youtube and found a home made video of the song. The kind where the creator shows the 45 spinning round on the turntable while the song plays.
Well now the guy behind Bedazzled has added the original video of the song recorded for the Upbeat show. The video perfectly matches the whimsical and innocent nature of the song. I'm sure you'll agree.
