The Monkees tour, with a stop in Cleveland over Labor Day weekend, has been cancelled. There has been no explanation leaving fans to speculate. That's never a good thing.
There's rumors of Mickey Dolenz having a drinking problem and needing to go to rehab. There's the story of someone running into Peter Tork a couple of days ago and saying something to the effect of "the band I used to be in" and that he's a "recovering Monkee".
Whatever the case it could be that I'll never get that chance to see them. I was looking forward to the Facebook event I'd created, a bleacher dance party.
What more appropriate way to end this news then with the closing of The Monkees show.
