The annual Village Voice Pazz And Jop Poll 2009 is out. As usual, it's some of the best music reading of the year. The essays covering a myriad of trends and notables in the music scene are always exceptional and insightful.
Perusing the album and singles charts is always fun and a good source for discovering music that may have been off your radar. These charts are a tabulation of hundreds of critics who submit their year end lists to the Village Voice.
I take particular pleasure in the fact that my number one picks, arrived at in early December, in both the album and singles mirrored those of this poll. In other words, I know good music when I hear it...I'd humbly submit.
