If you haven't listened to BBC Radio on line...well, you should.
I tell friends that I feel I'm half British because of all the BBC radio I listen to. I know more about traffic tie ups in London than I do here in Cleveland some days. Ha!
Why is it such a great source?
1. Since the UK has an annual TV tax on its citizens the BBC is flush with money to make great sites and more importantly, great streams.
2. The choice of stations runs the gamut. My favorite stations in order are Radio 2 the most popular station in the UK which plays a mix of top 40 and rock. 6 Music, which can only be picked up digitally in the UK which plays cutting edge rock. Radio 1, the top 40 station available here on Sirius satellite.
3. The presenters (we call them DJ's here) have a palpable passion for the music and are often hugely entertaining personalities in their own right. Names that come to mind include Jonathan Ross, Russell Brand, Bob Harris, Mark Lamar, etc.
4. They archive all of their shows for a week so you can listen on demand.
And if you think that the only way you can enjoy audio off your computer is by sitting at your desk, think again. There's many ways to get that music into your stereo system and better yet distribute it throughout your home.
