I've said it before, audio is just as important in a good home theater as the video. Too many people are sure to buy a good looking TV but shirk when it comes to buying a sound system to match.
One of my favorite AV bloggers is Steve Guttenberg, not the actor, who writes for CNET. I've pointed you to a number of his stories. It's always interesting when he and Scott Wilkinson of Home Theater Geeks get together and talk. This week they discuss the importance or unimportance of audio measurement when setting up the sound system.
You'll find some folks in my business who are, perhaps, too concerned with the exact set up at the expense of the interior design. I always explain to a client that it's important to walk the line between what's going to sound good and what's going to integrate well with the interior design. You can have an outstanding and highly accurate sound system that makes the room look less than attractive.
