One of my favorite websites is Lifehacker. It offers just what it says, ways to manipulate life to your benefit. Sometimes it's about technical tricks, sometimes about day to day drudgery and sometimes it has to do with consumer entertainment. In this case we're talking more about interior design, specifically theater furniture.
A real home theater, as in a dedicated room, usually features tiered seating. Risers that lift one row from the next, just as they are built in actually movie theaters. The cost of real theater chairs is quite expensive and can easily add up to one of the most significant expenditures on a home theater project.
Lifehacker presents an alternative that's quite easy and looks down right comfy, Build Stadium-Style Home Theater Seating on the Cheap with Shipping Pallets. The only necessary items needed are pallets, pillows and paint.
